Surcharges for transportation on DFDS Seaways Cuxhaven - Immingham ferries
DFDS Seaways closely follows the development of bunker prices and the USD rate of exchange. In order to compensate for fluctuations in the cost of these, DFDS Seaways charges a surcharge or Bunker Adjustment Factor (BAF).
The additional cost for low sulphur fuel oil (as required by SECA and the Marpol Convention) is also included in the Bunker Adjustment Factor (BAF).
Bunker Adjustment Factor (BAF per unit load)
- January 2012 - €189 per unit
- February 2012 - €203 per unit
- March 2012 - €208 per unit
- April 2012 - €221 per unit
- May 2012 - €226 per unit
Electrical connections on board the vessel are included in the Seafreight and and electrical connections on terminal are charged according to local terminal conditions and tariffs.
UK port tax was introduced by the UK Government 1st May 2009.

Hazardous surcharge
Surcharges for the shipment of hazardous goods (excluding class 1) are €30/unit
- Surcharges for Class 1 are available on request
- Abnormal Loads:
- For units exceeding 2.6 metres in width the following surcharges shall apply: (Excess width calculations must be done on total unit length.) 2.61 - 3.00 m basic rate +25% 3.01 - 3.50 m basic rate +50% 3.51 - 4.00 m basic rate +100% over 4.00m on application. Height - units above 4.40m height must be approved by the agency. Weight - units above 80 to gross weight must be approved by the agency.
