Surcharges for transportation on DFDS Seaways Brevik - Immingham ferries
DFDS Seaways closely follows the development of bunker prices and the USD rate of exchange. In order to compensate for fluctuations in the cost of these, DFDS Seaways charges a surcharge or Bunker Adjustment Factor (BAF).
The additional cost for low sulphur fuel oil (as required by SECA and the Marpol Convention) is also included in the Bunker Adjustment Factor (BAF).
Bunker Adjustment Factor (BAF %)
- April 2012 = 15.62%
- May 2012 = 16.34%
- June 2012 = 15.62 %
No CAF is applied on this route.
Electrical connections on board the vessel are subject to NOK 210 charge per unit (plug-in surcharge) and electrical connections on terminal are charged according to local terminal conditions and tariffs.
Norway Harbour dues are charged as per local port authority requirement. The charges are based per tonne or fixed unit cost. Please contact your local office to check price levels.
UK port tax was introduced by the UK Government 1st May 2009 and will be listed separately on your invoice.
Hazardours surcharge
Surcharges for the shipment of hazardous goods (excluding class 1 & 7) are NOK 375/unit
Surcharges for Class 1 (explosives) are unique in that the type of packing frequently has decisive effect on the hazard and, therefore, on the assignment to a particular hazard division. The five hazard divisions are: 1.1, 1.2, 1.3, 1.4 and 1.5.
- 1.3 & 1.4: Substances and articles which have a fire hazard and/or a minor blast or a minor projection hazard (though not a mass explosion hazard), or no significant hazard = DSG +50%
- 1.1, 1.2 & 1.5 Substances and articles that have a mass explosion or projection hazard = DSG +100%
- Extra costs, such as attendance of fire brigade or any other special attendance, will be charged for separately.
The Dangerous Goods surcharge (DGS) is not subject to BAF and CAF.
Abnormal loads
- For trailers longer than 14 metres,truck/trailers longer than 17 metres, containers/tank-containers/flats longer than 20', 30' or 40' additional rates are given on application.
- For units exceeding 2.6 metres in width the following surcharges shall apply: (Excess width calculations must be done on total unit length.) 2.61 - 2.75 m basic rate +25% 2.76 - 3.00 m basic rate +50% 3.01 - 3.50 m basic rate +100% 3.50 - and over on application.
- For loads of abnormal height please contact your agent for maximum height information.
- The gross weight for selfdrives/trailers/flats/containers marked on each unit must not be exceeded. This must also conform to current government road/rail regulations. If this is found not to be so, discharge will be at Shipper's expense.
- Shipment of units exceeding 40 tons of weight is subject to prior approval with additional rates are given on application.
